# How Reviewers Work in TeamWins

Reviewers are the quality gate between teammate contributions and the bonus points (or perks) they unlock. Each Assist can name its own Reviewer so the person who cares most about the outcome makes the call.

How Reviewers Are Assigned

  • Assist owners pick a primary Reviewer in the Assist settings.
  • If that person is unavailable, TeamWins routes the request to another active reviewer or admin so approvals never stall.
  • When auto-approve is turned on for outcomes, the step is approved instantly — but the assigned Reviewer still gets an FYI notification to stay in the loop.

How Reviewers Are Notified

  • Approvals queue: The Approvals page shows pending items with live counters, filters, and quick actions.
  • Notification center: Reviewers see badges for new approval requests and “need more info” replies, plus optional email digests.
  • Need-more-info responses: Contributors receive clear notes outlining what’s missing, and the item stays open until they update it.

Reviewer Workspace View

Two tabs — Contribution Approvals and Perk Approvals — keep work organized.

Each row displays:

  • Assist type
  • Contributor name
  • Outcome step
  • Reviewer or contributor notes

Reviewers can act on items one by one, while admins can batch-approve whatever is currently filtered.

Reviewer Actions

Approve

Confirms the outcome, awards the points, and updates leaderboards and analytics instantly.

Reject

Marks the request as completed without points; contributors see the decision in their timeline.

Need More Info

Sends the item back with a note, keeping it pending until the contributor resubmits.

Resubmissions and Follow-Up

When contributors add missing context and resubmit:

  • The approval reappears at the top of the reviewer’s queue with updated notes.
  • Previous “need more info” alerts are cleared so everyone tracks the latest version.

Auto-Approvals and Perks

Admins can enable automatic approvals for outcomes or perks in Advanced Settings.

When enabled:

  • The queue is skipped, but the activity is still logged.
  • Reviewers receive confirmation notices to stay informed.
  • Use this for low-risk perks or outcomes; leave it off when a human check is essential.

Best Practices for Reviewer Teams

  • Keep the reviewer list focused — small, accountable groups move faster.
  • Rotate coverage if volume spikes; everyone shares the same queue and filters.
  • Leave clear notes when asking for more info so contributors know exactly how to fix and resubmit.
