Common invite issues
Can't create invite link (not admin)
Symptom: "Invite Team" button doesn't show invite link creation option
Cause: Only admins can create invite links. You're a Member or Reviewer.
Solution: 1. Ask workspace admin to share existing invite link with you 2. Copy link from Slack/email where admin posted it 3. Share that link with people you want to invite
Or: Request admin promotion if you need invite creation permissions.

Invite link says "Invalid Code"
Symptom: Clicking invite link shows error: "Invalid or expired invitation code"
Causes:
1. Link was revoked - Admin may have deactivated invite - Ask admin for new invite link
2. Max uses reached - Rare—some invites have usage limits - Contact admin for fresh invite
3. Copy-paste error - Invite code may have been truncated - Ensure full URL copied: https://app.teamwins.com/invite/[32-character-code] - Don't copy just the code—needs full URL
4. Workspace deleted - Very rare - Confirm workspace still exists with admin
Solution: Get new invite link from admin. Old link may be permanently invalid.

Email mismatch error
Symptom: Landing page shows: > "This invitation is for alice@company.com. You're signed in as bob@company.com."
Cause: Admin sent email invite targeted to specific person. You're logged in with different Google account.
Solutions:
Option A: Sign in with correct account 1. Click "Sign out" 2. Click "Sign in with Google" 3. Choose alice@company.com account 4. Retry joining
Option B: Request new invite for your email 1. Message admin: "I need invite for bob@company.com, not alice@company.com" 2. Admin sends fresh email invite to bob@company.com 3. Click new invite link
Option C: Use generic workspace link
- Ask admin for shareable workspace link (not email-specific)
- Generic links work for any email

Join request stuck "Pending"
Symptom: Clicked "Request to Join", but days later still no access
Cause: Workspace requires manual admin approval. Admin hasn't reviewed your request yet.
Solutions:
1. Check spam folder for approval notification (rare—in-app only usually)
2. Message admin directly - Email/Slack: "Hi, I submitted join request 3 days ago for [Workspace Name]. Can you approve?" - Include your email address so they can find your request
3. Wait longer - Admins may review weekly, not daily - 3-5 business days is normal in large companies
4. Ask admin to enable auto-approve - If internal company workspace, manual approval may be unnecessary - Admin can change setting: Settings → Advanced Settings → Auto-approve join requests

Joined but can't see any Assists
Symptom: Successfully joined workspace, but Dashboard shows "No Assists available"
Causes:
1. Assists not published yet - Admin may still be setting up workspace - Ask admin to publish Assists
2. You're in wrong workspace - Click workspace switcher (top nav) - Verify you're in correct workspace
3. Page didn't refresh - Hard refresh: Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac) - Or sign out and back in
4. Assists are paused - Admin may have paused all Assists temporarily - Check with admin for timeline
Solution: Contact admin to verify Assists are published and active.

Google sign-in fails
Symptom: Click "Sign in with Google" but get error or redirect loop
Causes:
1. Browser blocking cookies - Teamwins requires cookies for authentication - Check browser settings: Allow cookies for app.teamwins.com
2. Corporate Google Workspace restrictions - IT may block external OAuth apps - Contact IT to allowlist Teamwins OAuth app
3. Ad blocker interference - Disable ad blocker for app.teamwins.com - Or whitelist OAuth redirect URLs
4. Incognito mode issues - Try in normal browser window - Incognito blocks some OAuth flows
Solution: 1. Try different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) 2. Disable extensions temporarily 3. Contact IT if corporate Workspace restrictions suspected

Can't invite external partner/client
Symptom: Want to invite someone outside company, but not sure if allowed
Cause: Depends on workspace configuration and company policy
Check with admin:
- Is workspace internal-only or external-allowed?
- Are there data security concerns?
- Does external person need NDA?
Admin can:
- Enable/disable public discoverability
- Create separate workspace for external collaborators
- Set up guest access policies
Solution: Ask admin before sharing invite link with external people.

Invite link shared publicly by mistake
Symptom: Accidentally posted invite link in public Slack channel, Twitter, etc.
Immediate actions:
1. Delete public post if possible 2. Notify admin immediately 3. Monitor join requests for suspicious emails
Admin can:
- Decline unauthorized join requests
- Generate new invite link (old one still works, but new one for future use)
- Enable manual approval temporarily to review all joins
- Remove unauthorized users who already joined (Members page → Remove)
Prevention:
- Share invite links only in private Slack channels
- Use email invites for sensitive workspaces
- Enable manual approval for external-facing workspaces

Invite email not received
Symptom: Admin says they sent email invite, but recipient didn't get it
Causes:
1. Spam folder - Check junk/spam for email from noreply@teamwins.com or admin's email - Mark as "Not Spam" and move to inbox
2. Typo in email address - Verify admin entered correct email (alice@company.com not alice@compnay.com) - Ask admin to resend with correct spelling
3. Email server blocking - Corporate email filter may block automated invites - Ask IT to allowlist teamwins.com domain
4. Delay in delivery - Wait 5-10 minutes for email to arrive - Email servers sometimes queue bulk messages
Solution: Admin can share generic workspace link instead. Email invites are optional—link works fine.

FAQs
How long are invite links valid? Forever by default (persistent). Some workspaces may configure expiration (ask admin).
Can I use the same invite link twice? Yes—unlimited uses unless admin set max uses limit.
What if I joined wrong workspace? Leave workspace (Dashboard → Settings → Leave Workspace) and use correct invite link.
Can admin see who I invited? Not directly from invite link. Admin sees who joined but not who shared link with them.
Why does invite require Google? Teamwins uses Google OAuth for simple, secure authentication. No passwords to manage.
Can I join without Google account? Not currently. Email/password auth is future enhancement.
