Analytics visualizations

Below the metric cards, the Insights dashboard shows detailed breakdowns and charts.

1. Points by Category (Bar Chart)

Shows: Total points earned split by function

Categories:

  • Sales (orange): refer_new_lead, account_intel, partner_door_opener, event_invitation, etc.
  • HR (pink): talent_referral, onboarding_buddy, employer_brand, etc.
  • Marketing (purple): post_share, post_create, content_idea
  • Other (gray): Uncategorized or custom Assist types

How to use:

  • See which function drives most engagement
  • Compare categories month-over-month
  • Allocate resources to high-performing areas

Hover for details: Point totals per category

2. Event Counts by Assist Type

Shows: Activity breakdown by specific Assist type

Features:

  • Horizontal segmented progress bars
  • Each bar shows one Assist type (e.g., "Refer New Lead", "Talent Referral")
  • Segments represent: Effort (base), Outcome 1, Outcome 2
  • Hover segments for step labels and event counts
  • Color-coded by Assist type

Time filter: Dropdown to select:

  • This week
  • This month
  • This year
  • All time (default)

How to use:

  • Identify most popular Assists
  • See if people are getting outcomes approved (not just submitting)
  • Spot Assists with high submissions but low approvals (quality issue?)

Example insights:

  • "Refer New Lead has 50 submissions but only 10 meetings booked"
  • "Talent Referral has 20 referrals and 15 interviews (75% success rate!)"

3. Top Assist Types (Ranked List)

Shows: Assists ranked by total points earned

Displays:

  • Rank number (1-7 shown by default)
  • Assist type badge (color-coded)
  • Category label (Sales/HR/Marketing)
  • Total points (large, bold)
  • Contribution count (smaller text below)

How to use:

  • See which Assists are most valuable to promote
  • Compare popularity vs. point value
  • Plan which Assists to feature in communications

Sorted by: Total points (descending)

4. Top Contributors

Shows: Leaderboard of top performers

Displays:

  • Rank badge (1, 2, 3, etc.)
  • User avatar (or initials)
  • Full name and email
  • Total points earned
  • Contribution count

Features:

  • Search/filter by name or email
  • Shows top 5 by default
  • Click to see user's full contribution history (future feature)

How to use:

  • Recognize top performers in team meetings
  • Identify super users to champion program
  • Spot outliers (very high points might indicate gaming—review their contributions)

Note: Respects workspace anonymity settings. If "Force Anonymity" enabled, names are hidden.

Time range filtering

Global filter (top right):

  • This week
  • This month
  • This year
  • All time

Applies to: Event Counts chart only

Doesn't apply to: Metric cards (those have their own time context), Top Contributors (always all-time)

Export & reporting

Current status: No export features available in UI

Future enhancements:

  • CSV export of Top Contributors
  • PDF report generation
  • Email scheduled reports
  • Custom date range exports

Workaround for now:

  • Take screenshots for presentations
  • Manually transcribe data into spreadsheets
  • Use browser dev tools to access raw data (technical users)

Tips for analyzing data

Weekly reviews: 1. Filter Event Counts to "This week" 2. Check for new contributions across all Assist types 3. Compare to previous week (manual tracking currently) 4. Celebrate wins in team meeting with screenshot

Monthly reports: 1. Switch to "This month" filter 2. Screenshot category breakdown for executive summary 3. Highlight top contributors (with their permission) 4. Note any Assists with low adoption—adjust messaging

Quarterly planning: 1. "This year" view for longer trends 2. Compare Q1 vs. Q2 vs. Q3 data (manual snapshots) 3. Identify which Assists should be promoted, paused, or retired 4. Adjust point values if certain Assists are too/not popular

What you CAN'T do yet

❌ Compare time periods side-by-side (e.g., this month vs. last month) ❌ Export charts as images or data files ❌ Create custom reports or dashboards ❌ Drill down into individual contributions from charts (must go to separate Contributions page) ❌ Filter by specific team members or roles ❌ See pending vs. approved breakdowns (all data is aggregated)

Mobile viewing

Charts are responsive and work on mobile:

  • Category bar chart shrinks to vertical layout
  • Event counts bars stack nicely
  • Top contributors shows 3 users on mobile
  • Horizontal scroll for metric cards
  • Touch-friendly interactions

FAQs

Why is my data different from yesterday? Data is real-time. If contributions were submitted or outcomes approved, charts update immediately.

Can I hide certain Assist types from charts? Not currently. All active Assists appear if they have contributions.

Why is "Other" category so large? Custom Assist types that don't fit Sales/HR/Marketing end up in Other. Check your Assist configurations.

How are ties broken in Top Contributors? By contribution count (secondary sort). If still tied, alphabetically by name.

Can I see deleted contributions in analytics? No—deleted contributions (if admin removes them) are excluded from all charts.
